A secret society of Templar Knights try to find the cure for violence by studying the past lives of descendants of violent criminals.

A little self-indulgent, but entertaining and chock full of action and high tech gadgets, "Assassin's Creed" tries really hard to break free of its video game adaptation mould. In this enjoyable but flawed spectacle, our leading man does his very best to distract us from a lack of proper characterisation and giant, gaping plot holes, with varying degrees of success. But even he can't save the woeful ending of what is sure to become the next big franchise. Attempted assassination.
