Brad suffers a mid-life crisis while accompanying his son to Boston to tour potential colleges.

It's perhaps too easy to have an exaggerated view of your friend's successes as you view their status from the outside. What "Brad's Status" shows is how we can unleash our inner critics and sink into an unwarranted but bitterly real melancholy. Who of us does not retrospectively question our life choices? This protagonist is brutal in his self-assessment but believably so. The movie is extraordinary for being able to accomplish the feat of revealing the simple things that matter without becoming twee.
