Escape Room

Six strangers chase a $10,000 prize when they participate in a unique kind of escape room.

"Escape Room" squeezes all it possibly can from its basic premise, and builds a surprisingly entertaining set of contraptions to taunt its participants/victims. Each room presents an opportunity for an exciting set-piece, and the relatively unknown cast does an apt job at navigating the various locks, gadgets and invariable panic that sets in. There's no time allotted to misinterpret clues, as the film races towards the final exit with rising levels of suspense, but falters when it tries to justify all of the outlandish scenarios. No escape.
