Killers of the Flower Moon

History Crime Drama

In the 1920s, oil was discovered on Osage Indian land in Oklahoma, making them the richest people in the world and attracting ruthless criminals: a slew of murders ensued.

Killers of the Flower Moon is a well-produced tale of oil and blood, created for the big screen with colour and authenticity. Drawn from recent history, this is a shocking story of wanton greed and disregard for a people whose lives were deemed inconsequential. An interesting aside is that the scale of the crimes eventually warranted a federal investigation, giving rise to the FBI. The cinematographic elements are testament to the director's experience and skill, however, the production isn't faultless, as evidenced by the protracted runtime. Slow like a Southern drawl.
