Ladies in Black

Set in Sydney in 1959, several vignettes are woven around the lives of women who work in an upscale department store and are required to dress in black.

You'll receive a dose of nostalgia if you go shopping with "Ladies in Black". This is a charming movie, the characters are a little shallow yet compensated by their charm and perfect lipstick. The period is authentically recreated and washed in sunshine to give it a postcard quality. The use of CGI is a little apparent at times but easily forgiven as the overall effect is so captivating. Black is the new black.
