A war veteran and his daughter live in an urban forest near Portland Oregon until being discovered and put under the auspices of Social Services.

"Leave No Trace" is hushed viewing that holds its intensity gently and quietly. The movie has been made with a bold simplicity where nothing is wasted. Every scene, and each frame within it, adds a piece to the story and gives the film perspective. The approach is an intelligent one, in that the director assumes the audience is intelligent and can construct their own narrative to accompany lifestyle choices we might otherwise denigrate. Makes a mark.
