Meg 2: The Trench

A research team gets more than they bargained for when they start investigating the depths of the Mariana Trench.

"Meg 2: The Trench" seems to have forgotten where it came from. The first half of the film is overly serious, sorely lacking moments of levity to break up long sequences of dark, underwater exploration. Thankfully the second half is packed with ridiculous action sequences, makeshift weapons and incredible dialogue one-liners. The megalodon has brought friends around this time, and it's great to see these creatures punishing only those in the story that truly deserve it. Will you be inspired to stop a giant shark with your foot? Nom, nom.
