The Cured

"The Cured" is a unique and engaging interpretation of an enduring genre. Littered with historical parallels, the socio-political themes are obvious without being heavy-handed, and elevate this film to more than just another gory horror flick. It examines humankind's capacity for forgiveness, tolerance and fear against a post-apocalyptic setting. Although the film doesn't quite reach its potential, suffering in parts from predictable contrivances and pacing issues, it still remains a cleverly executed concept produced on a minuscule budget. A zombie movie with brains.
