A sous-chef without financial resources dreams of opening her own restaurant and takes a job running the kitchen in a shelter for undocumented immigrants.

Somewhere within "The Kitchen Brigade" is a true story. Central to the plot is a reality TV challenge and a reminder that what's on the small (or big) screen may not always be the whole truth. The movie hints at the difficulties, poverty, and social alienation faced when seeking residency in a foreign country while presenting a warm and positive take on harsh realities.
