Lassie Come Home

When Lassie is separated from her young owner, she navigates numerous perils and finds helping hands on her long journey home.

Comparisons with the original are inevitable when a film is remade, even with more 70 years between the two. With its familiar and tested plot, "Lassie Come Home" delivers dollops of yesteryear nostalgia with plenty of adventure and encounters with the unexpected to also delight the children of today. The film's native language is German, and the dubbed English conversations occasionally sound more wooden than natural. Thankfully, our leading lady more than makes up for any post-production shortcomings. Hot dog.
